USF
I/O Student Research
We strongly encourage our students to become involved in research. Methodological and research skills are very important for an I/O career, even an applied one, and the best way to learn is through experience. Every student completes a master's thesis and doctoral dissertation, which must involve an empirical study. We encourage students to publish their research, usually under the guidance of their major professors. Furthermore, we encourage students to pursue other research interests either on their own or with faculty. Many of our current and former students are published, and many continue to contribute to the I/O literature.
Below is a bibliography of publications based on work done by our students during their graduate careers with us. Many, but not all, are based on thesis or dissertation work. They have published in a variety of journals, including the top ones of the field, such as Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology. Student authors names are in bold. In cases where an individual published later in their career with a USF I/O student, they show up again but not in bold.
