Guidelines for Proposals:
Scholars interested in editing a volume for the series should consult the description to determine if his or her
project fits within the scope; if the material is appropriate please submit a proposal that meets the following
- A full description of the works to be edited, including summary, physical description
(length, unique typographical features and illustrations, if applicable), historical, literary and generic context,
publication history and critical reception and some suggestion of their relationship to other known literature;
- A description of the authors, including a thumbnail sketch of their biographies, their
literary merit and historical interest, and where these works fall within their oeuvres;
- A statement of rationale for publishing these works, both in terms of their appropriateness
as a pairing and with respect to the current availability of the texts. Indicate the target audience and how important
this publication would be. Also indicate what publications in-print would be competing with this work. Our goal
is to sell at least 500 copies per year.
- A statement of your qualifications as an editor for this work, including an explanation
of your own publications, fields of expertise and of pedagogy. Also include a current vita.
Proposals should not exceed 1500 words (excluding CV).
