Welcome to
Rob's Mystara Page
My first exposure to the world of role playing games was the old red 1982 Basic Dungeons & Dragons boxed set, which was a present from my parents. Little by little, I learned that they were pieceing together an entire world from the humble beginnings of that little dungeon where your anonymous fighter fought goblins and witnessed the unfortunate end of Aleena the cleric at the hands of Bargle the Infamous. My first glimpse of the scope of the world, as I'm sure it was for many others , was the map in the module "The Isle of Dread". Yet, disappointingly, most of the modules were largely silent on the subject of the other world. Naturally, I eagerly divoured the Gazetters, and bought most of them as soon as they were published.
However, my youthful interest in Dungeons & Dragons soon wained. I moved on to other RPGs like AD&D, James Bond, Pendragon, Star Trek, Marvel Super Heroes and others. More of my interest and money was heading towards comic books. Lack of fellow players and the reputation of games in high school helped my interest diminish. For many years I forgot about D&D entirely.
Early this year, for some reason, I pulled out a lot of my old D&D material and started reading it. My interest returned and I became nostalgic for the world of Mystara. I started buying stuff like crazy to fill the gaps in my collection and to discover what had happened in Mystara since I was gone. The wonderful new additions like Poor Wizard's Almanac, The Princess Ark series and Red Steel only fed my interest. Yet I disappointingly learned that Mystara was (most likely permanently) shelved by TSR. Sigh.
Still my interest remains. I may never play again, but I think I will always be nostalgic for that world I first entered by fighting that goblin and meeting Aleena back in 1983.
Here is a list of all the Mystara products I currently own, both from my childhood and stuff I bought this year.

Some Excel spreadsheets I made to help me keep track of monsters and spells and (gasp!) my very own Mystara fiction.
