I have no idea where it gets its name from.  This orchid grows in soil, has large and wide leaves, and shoots up flower stems straight up (may reach 3-4 ft) with very pretty flowers.  But, the flowers don't smell nice and do not last long!  Need to wait until next spring to take pictures, if I remember!
