Energy of Infinite Electrons in a Hydrogen Atom

by Miranda Sarmiento

Submitted : Spring 2022

The project explores the possibility that a Hydrogen atom could exist with the hypothetical situation of having infinite electrons. This theory was proven to be true because this project served as proof that with the application of Taylor series and some minimal knowledge on Quantum Mechanics, the Hydrogen atom can still exist. In simpler terms, this project showed that a hydrogen-like atom with an infinite set of electrons is mathematically probable, but not entirely possible in a physical aspect. This result was a combination between the value provided by the Schrödinger Wave Equation and the Taylor series of sin of x divided by x. The project statement served as guide to the calculations shown in the development of the project.
