A Mathematical Study of Brains of Logic vs Brains of Creativity

Are a person’s differing levels of learning styles dependent on if they are a Right-Brain or Left-Brain thinker? I will be attempting to find a correlation between the sides utilized by a person’s brain and their learning style levels. Now to start off with some background, there are three pre-dominant learning styles: Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic. These describe how someone can best learn or retain information, these can be measured by a percentage. This is similar to the analysis of the two hemispheres of the brain. Left-Brained people tend to be more logical and rational, while Right-Brained people tend to be more creative and spontaneous. In order to gather the participants for collecting my data I created a survey. From the data I had compiled, I then did systematic sampling. Thus, resulting in my final data points. For my math processes first, I will be creating a comparative box plot of right brain percentages, left brain percentages, visual levels, auditory levels, and kinesthetic levels to show if the data correlates distribution wise. I expect there to be, visually, some similarities between all of the data being displayed in this graph. I will find the five-number summary of the five different box plots and compare their medians to see which is higher of the five variables. Therefore, after the box plots, I will be calculating the correlation coefficient to calculate a more precise measure of the strength of the correlation between the learning styles and the sides of the brain being used. I expect this to show a positive correlation and support the comparative box plots more by showing a more precise and reliable answer to if there is a correlation or not. Finally, after the calculating the Correlation Coefficient, I will be performing a Chi-Squared Test in order to determine whether the sides of brain percentages and the learning style percentages are independent or not. I expect the outcome of this to display a strong relationship between the sides of the brain percentages and the learning style percentages. I also expect this to be the most efficient support of the three math processes due to this test being more technical than the other processes, hopefully leading to a more accurate outcome.
