Analyzing Lake Trout Populations in Lake Michigan

by Jorge Santana

Submitted : Spring 2022

The overall aim of this project is to analyze and determine the projected population of Lake Trout in Lake Michigan. Using the biological application of integrals specifically, survival and renewal in populations, the future population of Lake trout in fifteen years will be decided and analyzed. It was found that after the projected fifteen-year time period concluded, the population of Lake trout was increased after the fifteen-year time gap representing that the population of Lake Trout reproduction exceeds the overfishing that is occurring and the survivorship rate during this time frame.
