Finding the optimum time to harvest fish grown in captivity using data on their growth through lengt

To determine the best time to harvest fish raised in captivity, the von Bertalanffy equation was used as well as an allometric model of weight connected to length. The von Bertalanffy equation gives length which is needed for the next equation. While getting the weight of fish on its own is not helpful for solving this problem, taking the second derivative of the allometric model will give the inflection point. This is the point at which the fish is gaining weight most rapidly and when harvesting is most optimal. While the results were expected as well as helpful, work is not yet done. The main focus of this project was for Blue Tilapia and results will change according to the data for other species of fish.
