Using Calculus to Test the Accuracy of Physics in a Video Game Engine

by Colin McGill

Submitted : Fall 2020

Video games are a billion-dollar industry in which the knowledge of computer science and programming is vital. These video games use an engine to run the games. This engine may simulate physics that we are used to on Earth. This project uses calculus to test the coding of the programmers to make sure they stay true to real life physics. To do this, the area between two curves was found which tells us the mutual displacement of two objects.
