Submitted : Fall 2020

This project explains the application of integration used to calculate the volume of a pressured filter of the dimensions extracted from the 3D drawings of figure 1. By integrating the component's area with height, which has right circular cylinder, will help to calculate the inbound volume where the gas fills in. The pressure is obtained from the volume using the ideal gas equation and tested in favourable conditions. Then, further analysis is done to check the compatibility of filter’s tolerance to withstand the pressure obtained.

This project helped me to understand the applications of integrations used in real-life situations and how interrelated variables are extracted across disciplines and other life sciences. These results extracted through integrations are precise and accurate. This project can be replicated by expanding the theory to limitless and irregular shaped bodies as it can help in solving many complicated problems in day-to-day life situations and many engineering disciplines.
