My project report is a study involving calculating the total amount of work done of different types of drainage tanks. This is important for research because it will help provide modern day solutions to pollution problems and to increase efficiency of wastewater drainage. The reason for this research is to see how plausible and how much of a difference is made between the different types of tanks. This problem attempts to solve pollution problems and efficiency problems by finding a method to provide services in a safe and effective manner.  I used basic physics formulas and integration to calculate the work done of both the tanks.  My objective was to find out which is the most efficient and most resourceful option of drainage tanks. The two types of drainage tanks which I inspected were, conical and cylindrical drainage tanks. In order to find this out I had to do some research on water drainage tanks, and calculate work done using calculus. I used integration to calculate the work.  To start my calculations, I had to create diagrams of the cylindrical tank, and divide the water in the cylinder into infinitesimal elements. After doing so, I calculated the volume and used basics physics equations of force and work, to calculate a distance. After I got my infinitesimal values I integrated. From the results I got I was able to find out that the conical tank is more energy efficient and resourceful compared to the cylindrical tank and that it requires less work done to drain the water.
