Predicting the Number of COVID-19 Cases in Florida in Future Months Based on Reported Cases Per Day

by Sean Boyd

Submitted : Fall 2020

My project used the number of reported COVID-19 cases in Florida over the past months of September 2020, October 2020, and November 2020 to create a function that represented this data. I then integrated this function with different upper and lower limits to find approximate estimates for the amount of new COVID-19 cases that will be recorded over the next three months, December 2020, January 2021, and February 2021. I used these estimates to make conclusions on the current trend of the state of Florida in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
