To Determine Value of Capacitive Element to Be Inserted in a Solar Photo-Voltaic System

This project is an effort to find a solution to problem of low power factor being faced universally by all the SPV (Solar Photo-Voltaic) Electric Power installations.

 

The power factor of the Electrical System on Load end can be improved by introduction of suitable capacity of Capacitive Elements in the circuit, the value of which can be determined by mathematically representing (Taylor Series Format) the tan of angle between the apparent and active power components and solving the expression iteratively. In this project, such iterations have been done to find suitable capacitor value, for different possible values of Active Power being generated by the SPV Power Plant.
