Calculus plays a very central and crucial role in all fields of engineering, especially in electrical engineering, being integrated in calculations ranging from simple rates of change of current and voltage to solving differential equations consisting of two unknown variables in RLC circuits. I have always aspired to be an Electrical Engineer and in my journey towards becoming one, I have realized that Calculus and Electric Materials go hand in hand when it comes to the practical applications of electricity. The topic of my Project is the Application of Calculus in Electrical Engineering, closely linked to the branches of Electronics, Radio and Communication Engineering. The example being used in this paper is that of an RLC, a circuit consisting of a resistor of resistance R, a coil of inductance L, a capacitor of capacitance C and a voltage source arranged in series. The paper explores in detail the mathematical approach to solving problems related to RLCs and calculating the current using a list of differential equations.
