Mechanics of A Half Pipe

by Andrea Hernandez-Sabanilla

Submitted : Spring 2020

The shape of a halfpipe is an interesting one as it has 5 components: the deck, the coping, the transition and the flat bottom. They create a concave shape, and the best way to find the area that the pieces could cover would be by using integrals. Therefore, it will be explained using integrals and breaking it down step by step. Afterwards, it will be discussed what can be done with this information.
