Kinematics of Energy Harvesting Packs

by Hayden Coglianese

Submitted : Spring 2020

Using, concepts involving moment of inertia, angular, and linear kinematics, the estimated values of maximum harvestable energy from hiking with a weighted pack was attained.

The use of harvestable energy with the oscillation of a pack is the ability to then charge, gear and different electronics in combat for the U.S. military.  Giving them the ability to only have to carry their pack and have less worry on carrying extra batteries or even tools or gear altogether to make sure they're prepared for different scenarios.
