Submitted : Spring 2020

Thermodynamics is an important scientific study that has many useful applications which have been used to greatly improve the lives of consumers. One significant application of the principles of thermodynamics, can be found in the operation of a refrigerator. Enthalpy is a key aspect of during refrigeration; its exact application in the refrigeration cycle and its potential effect on efficiency will be explored. To better explore this, certain things such as the laws of thermodynamics must be understood; as well as the involvement of scientific terms such as pressure, work , internal energy and heat. A correlation of these terms and laws was found using the principles of integration and differentiation and it was found that enthalpy has a direct relation /impact on the Coefficient of Performance of a refrigerator
