Effect of the Design Condenser on the COP Refrigeration Cycles

Submitted : Fall 2019

The research determines the benefits of using the two separate cycles of refrigeration in meeting the demands for freezing and compartments of the fresh food. The research determines the coefficient of performance for the refrigerators (COP) (Ghena et al., 2016). Different condenser designs are used and evaporator loads. The used condenser designs are a regular condenser, condenser with plain tubes of copper and condenser with welded tubes of stainless steel. The pressures and temperatures of each refrigeration are collected for the evaluation of refrigerators' performance.  The results of the COP in cond. 1 increased to 20% while that of cond. 2 increased by 14%. This increase is more than the regular condenser. The results also showed that the COP of the refrigerator increased with an increase in the evaporator load.
