Finding the Growth Rate of a Tumor

by Christine Staat

Submitted : Fall 2019

This project reflects taking research data from a growing glioblastoma and applying Gompertz method to observe how accurate the method estimates the results of growth over a function of time. The data from the tumor was graphed in excel along with the values expressed from the Gompertz equation. Excel solver was used to assist in

determining the constant values of α, β, and γ. The data of the tumor was overall very

close to the outcome of the Gompertz model following a sigmoidal “S” curve.
