Applications of Calculus with Finding the Appropriate Wheel

by Theodore Frost

Submitted : Fall 2019

From a given information of 4000 RPM with a ratio of 10:1, the wheels with varying diameters must travel the farthest distance within ten seconds.  The velocity and the acceleration are calculatable via physics formulas as well as equations that help with converting from RPM to distance traveled over time.  However, despite the given amount of information, there are much more factors that are in need to be considered in order to provide a further accurate result.
