Many people abuse prescription drugs everyday- potentially leading to the deaths of numerous people. If more people were aware of what drugs truly did to their bodies, there would be a possibility that the amount of deaths decrease. Calculus can be used to determine these results in numerous ways. For example, the way drugs are processed in the body over time will be discovered by using differential equations. Understanding how certain drugs are processed throughout the body helps determine the correct dosage- hoping to prevent over dosage. It can also help individuals determine which drugs should be administered for certain individuals. Different drugs do different things to the body- even if it is the difference between generic and name-brand medicines. This paper will reveal those differences by using area under the curve, differentiation, logarithms, and the Lambert W function.
