Load Bearing Beam Analysis

This paper focuses on how load bearing structural beams are analyzed. Loads are defined as external forces acting on a component of a structure, in this case a beam with supports. Loads also create internal forces which are forces acting within the beam, such as shear force and rotational effect throughout a beam. Engineers display these forces in diagrams to help better visualize the strengths. They compare the calculated forces with the known strength of the material used in construction to check for any issues such as structural failures.  This paper will cover how calculations are made and how to create these diagrams. These are important steps when engineers design any type of structure to ensure the stability and safety of structures such as buildings and bridges.
