Paraboloid Speaker Intensity

by Chris Mellon

Submitted : Fall 2016

Speakers typically have either a cone shape or a paraboloid shape. In this project, the volume of the speaker paraboloid is calculated and used to estimate the maximal intensity of sound that could be emitted from it and the focal point.  The focal point was calculated to be 5.04cm from the origin at the center of the speaker.  The volume was calculated to be 1140.4 cm3 and have an intensity of 111.5 decibels.
