Roy Price (Ph.D.) came to USF from the University of Arkansas. He is currently researching active shallow-water submarine hot springs near Ambitle Island, in eastern Papua, New Guinea. He will collect and analyze vent water, gas, sediments, and mineral precipitates from the hydrothermal vents to determine general chemistry and bioavailability of arsenic being discharged into the coral reef ecosystem. For more information contact Roy by email or visit his website.

Gregg Jones (Ph.D.) is a USF graduate. He is currently working on the problem of water quality changes in the Floridan aquifer resulting from injection of water for aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) systems. The purpose of my research is to construct geochemical models of the aquifer that will help determine the chemical reactions that result in the liberation of arsenic and what can be done to prevent the arsenic from reaching levels that exceed drinking water standards. For more information contact Gregg by email.

Olesya Lazareva (Ph.D.) came to USF from Lomonosov Moscow State University. She is currently constructing a mesocosm to model ASR operation in the laboratory. For more information contact Olesya by email or visit her website.

Angela Dippold (MS) Angela came to USF from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. She is currently working on a detailed mineralogical and geochemical investigation of the Avon Park Formation to examine potential sources of arsenic. This study is critical to examine whether the Avon Park Formation may be used for for Aquifer Storage and Recovery. For more information contact Angela by email.

Daniela Miranda de Lima (Ph.D.) Daniela is a visiting scientist from the Federal University of Vicosa in Brazil. She is conducting experiments to determine inorganic-organic arsenic transformation by microbes in soils. For more information contact Daniela by email.

Kirstin Rohland Kirstin is a visiting scientist from the University Freiberg in Germany. She is conducting research in the general area of marine shallow-water hydrothermal systems. For more information contact Kirstin by email.
